Vivek-Priyanka off on their eco-friendly honeymoon this January…
It’s going to be an eco-friendly honeymoon for the newly wed couple Vivek and Priyanka. It’s been over a month since the duo have been married, yet they haven’t gone for their honeymoon as Vivek was busy with his film promotion and release. But now Vivek has http://bollywood.celebden.com/wp-admin/media-upload.php?post_id=22481&type=image&TB_iframe=1finally decided to spare a week for his wife and the couple has planned to go on their honeymoon. It is heard that the destination is the Red Sea and they will be off this coming January.
Says a source close to Vivek, “Priyanka and her family have always supported causes that help protect the environment and ecosystem,” The source adds, “The eco-conscious couple had ensured that the wedding invite and the bag carrying the invite were made from handmade herbs and that the scroll was made from 100 per cent recycled materials. As far as choosing a honeymoon destination was concerned, it was Priyanka who suggested they go in for responsible tourism,”
The actor is set to perform on Dec 31 for the Country Club New Year bash in Dubai. And accompanying him would be his wife Priyanka.
After the New Year eve the couple would then head for their honeymoon.

People magazine declares Salman as the ‘sexiest man’ alive! Do you think so???
The People magazine (India) has voted Salman Khan as the sexiest man alive.
Should we call this a co-incidence??? If you remember, just a few days back, Shahrukh Khan was declared as the sexiest dad by a magazine. And now, Salman has been named the sexiest man alive in the December issue of People mag.
Plunging down the neckline of his tee on the cover, Salman jokingly says in the interview: “I am comfortable in worn-out, torn jeans and tees. Only the underwear shouldn’t be torn!”
The superstar also joked that despite being named the sexiest, he won’t wear a bikini.

Her contribution to the film industry with films like Mughal-E-Azam, Howra Bridge and Kaala Paani are treasured till date. Madhubala was found to have a heart problem after she coughed up blood on the sets of Bahut Din Huwe. She had a hole in her heart. She tried hiding her illness from the industry for many years. She had no one besides her during her last days. She died a lonely death.
Guru Dutt: The legendary actor and director Guru Dutt, who created his identity with the film Pyasa opposite Wahida Rehman and Mala Sinha passed away at the age of 42 in 1964. He was found dead on his bed in his rented apartment in Mumbai. He is said to have been mixing alcohol and sleeping pills. His death may have been a suicide case, or just an accidental overdose. But buzz had it that this was his third suicide attempt and he got unfortunate. He had tried to commit suicide twice before but somehow survived after he was rushed to the hospital.
d
Divya Bharti: This bubbly actress left an unforgettable mark in Bollywood with movies like Deewana opposite Rishi Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. She died at the age of 19 on April 5, 1993. Divya fell to her death off her husband’s 5-storey Versova apartment building, in Mumbai. The investigation into the circumstances of Divya Bharti’s death was closed in 1998 without any definite verdict.
Parveen Babi: This beautiful actress had a very sad and mysterious death. She lived alone in her Juhu residence. At the age of 55 on January 20, 2005, she bid the world goodbye. Since she was all alone, nobody got the slightest hint of her death. Joseph discovered that Khanduja was still married, although having told her he had been divorced for two years. Saif-Kareena ban on-screen kissing…
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have made up their minds to stop on screen kissing forever. They announced their decision on Koffee With karan. While Saif wasn’t very happy with Akshay-Kareena lip locking in Kambakht Ishq, Bebo also expressed her disapproval about Saif’s chumma with Deepika in Love Aaj Kal.
We are not sure about Saif, but Kareena definetely has to re think about the self-imposed ban. It is heard that, Reema Kagti’s untitled film with Aamir Khan has a kissing scene.
A source reveals, “AK won’t be too thrilled to hear that Kareena went on national television to announce her fatwa on kissing. He would have preferred her to discuss her stand with him.”
Well, lets just wait and watch how far the couple lives up to their promise…

Karan Johar’s love-making scene with Priyanka …
Karan Johar got the biggest shock of his life when Vishal Bhardwaj, director of the upcoming flick Saat Khoon Maaf approached him to enact a lovemaking scene with hottie Priyanka Chopra. Karan had to play the role of a psycho husband – a sex maniac of sorts – who beats his wife.
Karan is quoted as saying, “From what angle do I look like a wife-beater? And how could I enact a scene making love to Priyanka Chopra! And that too as a sex maniac! There is no way I could do this.”
On hearing the script, Karan, without thinking for a second, said no and the role went to Irrfan Khan.
Lol! I wonder how a sensitive director like Karan Johar look like, beating his wife.

Anurag Kashyap blames Big B for film delay…
Film-maker Anurag Kashyap has claimed that Amitabh Bachchan used his clout to delay the release of Chittagong to benefit Abhishek’s KHJJS so that KHJJS could get enough eyeballs. This had in turn stirred a controversy.
Shonali Bose’s small-budget film Chittagong that is based on the same subject and stars Manoj Bajpai as the revolutionary Surjya Sen, was meant to release in October, but it was delayed due to reasons unclear. But now, Anurag Kashyap, has thrown light on the reasons.
Kashyap has posted a comment on a social networking site, alleging that Big B is responsible for pushing the release of Shonali Bose’s Chittagong, which is being directed by her husband Bedabrata.
“See Chittagong, a far superior film made on the same subject as Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey… At 1/8 th the cost, far superior actors and immense passion… Producers decided to sit on it, because of a phone call from someone, because that someone was trying desperately to save his son’s career… welcome to Bollywood, where whose son you are outshines all the hard work and passion and potential and talent. KHJJS came and went, now what?”
There can be no doubt that the “someone” referred to in the post is Amitabh Bachchan.
Big B, it seems is quite irked as well. When asked if he had indeed made a call to stall the release of Chittagong, Bachchan said, “This is incorrect and baseless and I do not wish to dignify this undignified remark by commenting on it.”

Through his character, ShahRukh Khan undergoes a transformation in his outlook about life and the whole world, while he is being held captive by some miscreants for a few weeks. Yana sued for the “No-Panty” act….
Actor and model Yana Gupta panty incident has costed her quite a bit.
Rizwan Ahmed, a self-proclaimed social activist in Lucknow, is keeping the controversy alive. Ahmed has filed a case against Yana, the photographer who clicked her pictures and the organizer of the event, Sushila Nirali for obscenity under section 292/ 293 and 294 of the IPC in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Lucknow on Tuesday.
“I have filed a case against Yana Gupta, the photographer who took her photograph and also the event organizer who allowed such a thing to happen at her event. It is indeed shameful that a person of Yana Gupta’s repute could stoop so low for publicity. I was shocked to see the picture of the actor that appeared in papers,” says Ahmed. He further adds, “What offended me most was what Yana posted on her social networking site about now being known as ‘the no-panty girl.’ I find this extremely offensive,” says Ahmed.
“one may forget to dress properly at a party or in one’s house, but certainly not at a public function meant for children. If it was a malfunction why didn’t Yana say so when the photographs appeared or why didn’t she lodge a complaint against the photographer?” asks Rizwan.
The Magistrate has issued summons to the three accused for December 6.

Priyanka rejects 3 crore to dance on New Year’s eve
Even though she is being paid more than them, Priyanka Chopra is in no mood to join the bandwagon of Bipasha Basu, Mallika Sherawat & Co.
The actress has kicked a Rs 3 crore offer to shimmy at a 5-star hotel for this New Year’s Eve. This amount being offered to her is actually double of what she would demand for a role in a film (Rs 1.5 crore, at last count).
The time it would take to earn this amount is as little as 3 hours of actual work.
The schedule of a film is much longer, going into months. So why has Chops turned down such a profitable offer?
The answer is her diva image that she has been painstakingly building up over the last few years.
A source close to Priyanka told, “A 5-star hotel in Andheri came up with an offer to Priyanka asking her to gyrate at the forthcoming New Year’s Eve.
Priyanka turned them down politely.” Explaining why Priyanka declined, the source added, “Priyanka is very uncomfortable dancing in hotels in front of a live audience.
She doesn’t get a very good feeling in doing such performances. Yes, Rs 3 crore is a very tempting amount. But despite the hotel officials coaxing her, Priyanka was adamant that she wouldn’t toe the line.” The actress remained unavailable for comment.

Raktha Charitra–II: – It gets bloodier and better!!!
By raam
Director: Ram Gopal Varma
Banner: Cinergy
Writer: Prashanth Pandey
Cinematagrophy: Amol Rathor
Editor: Nipun Ashok Gupta
Music: Dharam-Sandeep
Cast: Vivek Oberoi, Suriya, Shatrugan Sinha, Priyamani, Radhika Apte, Zarina Wahab, Sudeep.
Grade: B- Paisa Vasool
Some films are watched for the star cast, some for their grandeur, some for the production houses and a select few for the filmmaker. Love him or hate him, but you cannot ignore RGV’s films. His latest offering is the second volume and the end of the saga-Raktha Charitra-II.
Story: Well, the story is the continuation of Vol-I. It is the story of Pratap Ravi, a factionist turned politician and his enemy Surya who wants to avenge the death of his family members. Ravi massacres Narasimha Reddy (Raja Krishnamoorthy) and Nagamani Reddy (Kota Srinivasa Rao) to avenge the death of his brother and father. Later, Ravi becomes a politician and minister with the help of actor turned politician Sivaji Rao (Shatrugan Sinha). Ravi slowly becomes a force to reckon with and his invincibility goes unchallenged. Then enters Suriya, the son of Narasimha Reddy, who tries to blow up Ravi’s car and fails. The reason behind the murder attempt is obvious; Suriya wants to avenge his father’s death. But, that is not all, a flashback episode later reveals the story of Surya which I’ll keep under wraps as I do not want to spoil the thrill. The police later arrest Surya and Ravi tries to kill Surya in order to survive. The rest of the story is about who kills whom.
Analysis: People who have not watched Raktha Charitra –I need not hesitate about watching this film. Ramu makes sure that the new audience is fed with a gist of the first volume’s story. For this purpose, he dedicates the first half hour of his two and a half hours saga. I reckon this is a good way to attract new audience. The world premiere of the first volume last Saturday should also encourage the audience to come watch the second volume.
Direction: I was actually not too happy with Vol-I, but after watching Vol-II, I feel the movie is completely justified. Avid RGV fans are definitely in for a treat and those who are not are also in for a surprise. Ramu never deviates from the story and keeps the audience hooked to their seats throughout. Few scenes were really pulsating.
Especially the bomb blast scene where Suriya is introduced (RGV shows no car blowing up interestingly), the build up to the scene before Suriya is produced in the court, the climax sequence and the appearance of Suriya in the frame before shooting Vivek are just brilliantly done. Also the incidents, which make both the characters take up violence, have a similar pattern, which make the audience understand the similarity between the two guys.
One can get to see all the aspects of Ramu’s filmmaking which most of us are used to by now. Acute and obscure camera angles, gritty writing and raw faces with the least bit of makeup, everything Ramu style. One scene, which would sure mark the genius of Ramu, is the scene where Suriya is trying to escape the crossfire between the two gangs and a kid is shown running in the foreground while a goon falls to the ground after being shot (in the background).
Editing by Nipun Ashok Gupta is crisp and the camera work by Amol Rathod is typical Ramu style. Writing by Prashant Pandey is good. The background score by Dharam-Sandeep is mostly the same as in the first volume.
Performances: Vivek Oberoi surely deserves a pat on his back for pulling off the character Pratap Ravi with such panache. Surely, this is his finest work to date. If he was good in the first volume he just gets better and better in the second volume. His face-off with Suriya in the prison and his yes/no argument with Shatrugan Sinha were simply brilliant. To be honest, Vivek carries the whole film on his shoulders.
Coming to the south Superstar Suriya, he does his job neatly. RGV himself wrote in his blog that Suriya’s eyes did all the acting in the film and this is completely true. After RGV’s Shiva, there comes a character where most of the dialogues are spoken with the eye. His reactions in the TV blast scene are brilliant. He is sure to be noticed by the audience of Hindi cinema.
Shatrugan Sinha only plays a cameo this time and continues his wonderful work that we got to see in the first volume. Kota Srinivasa Rao and Abhimanyu Singh reappear in the flashback episode and people were going gaga cheering Bukka Reddy. Sudhakar as Krishna is adequate. Sudeep as the cop is impressive and his encounters with Vivek and Suriya are top notch. Both the ladies in the film, Priyamani and Radhika Apte are good. Radhika Apte was particularly brilliant in the scene where she argues with Vivek. The rest of the cast is adequate.
The film is a rarity in Hindi cinema, which tries to depict a real incident from Andhra Pradesh and showcases the raw emotion of vengeance. RGV is actually criticized for glorifying violence on screen. But, in this film he tries to show the viewpoints of two characters who enter into a personal vendetta with a sublime touch of emotion.
If there is any thing that the audience needs to be aware of in this film is its content. Yes, it is predictable and also one has to see how the audiences would lap up the subject after the first volume not being received well by the audiences in the North.

Well, to be honest, I went to the movie expecting something as big as Lagaan. After all, the theme was the same and so was the director. But then KHJJS is NOT even anywhere close to our entry to the Oscars.
The movie opens with a message about the unsung heroes of the Chittagong Uprising of 1930. The theater bore testimony to this fact, that we are not interested in their forgotten saga, with just 20 people to watch the first day first show. This Abhishek Bachchan- Deepika Padukone starrer patriotic thriller had a damp opening.
The story is about Surjya Sen, a school teacher, from Chittagong or Chottogram. A group of 64 revolutionaries, including young boys (some even 13 years old) and women attack the British. What follows is the chase by the British to find and punish them. And the rest is history.
KHJJS- The Weak Points
- The movie lacks the spirit of Lagaan or the freshness of Rang De Basanti, both follow the patriotic theme with a different touch.
- Abhishek Bachchan tries to do justice to the role of Surjya Sen but lacks the punch. Considering that he gave to us a power packed performance in Guru.
- Deepika Padukone (as Kalpana Dutta) with her starched Bengali saris and two braids, looks pretty but does not add anything to the movie.
- The slow pace of the movie kills the thrill. It doesn’t leave the audience at the edge of their seat in anticipation.
- The music by Sohail Sen fails to evoke the same emotion that songs like “Yeh jo des hain mera” (Swades), “Baar baar haan (Lagaan) or the evergreen “Aye Mere Watan ke Logon” have done.
- The backbone of a patriotic movie is its dialogue, and sadly, KHJJS does not have any speech that would make the viewers sit up and clap.
- Let’s applaud the honest intentions of Ashutosh Gowarikar in letting us know about the freedom fighters whom we remember at our convenience.
- The highlight of the movie are the young teenagers. Their effortless acting will surely win your heart. They come up with the most innocent lines in the movie which carry a lot of weight.
- For a movie without any “S” factor, that is SRK, Salman, Sex and Sheila, needed for success KHJJS does engage you in its own sweet way. However, it does have another “S”, namely simplicity to get it going for almost 3 hours. I know that’s too long.
- You will be transported to the India in the 30s with the gramophone, the vintage cars and the dusty roads of a Bengal village. You will love the beauty of the locales. I guess Gowarikar did his research thoroughly.
- The bright side of making a movie on nationalism is that even if you go wrong, the patriotism of the audience keeps the movie alive. We hope that’s true for KHJJS too.
Do not go and watch Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey with high expectations. Just go there to get a glimpse of how we drove the “goras” away.
